Ethics & Conduct

Our Code: Who We Are and How We Stand

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

At 837 Recovery & Coaching, we’re unashamedly Christ-centered. I’m Graeme Wright, and I built this program on the truth that only Jesus can heal the brokenness behind sexual addiction. This isn’t just rules; it’s Scripture and God’s guidance that direct our every step, leading men to freedom and restored lives.

As a Christian coach, I commit to the following ethical standards, seeking to honor Jesus Christ in all aspects of my coaching practice.

1. Core Beliefs, Faith & Worldview

This section establishes the biblical framework for all ethical standards and practices within 837 Recovery & Coaching.

• As a licensed minister of the Gospel and a Christian coach, I firmly believe that only Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, can truly heal the brokenness that leads us into destructive behaviors.

Only He can bind up the brokenhearted, restore clarity of mind, grant freedom from addiction, and bring lasting peace. This conviction is the foundation of my coaching, mentorship, and recovery programs.

Scriptural Foundation:

◦ “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17

◦ “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13

• While I respect our clients’ personal views, the directors, employees, and coaches of 837 Recovery & Coaching will not modify their conduct or language in response to today’s cultural demands. 837 Recovery & Coaching will view culture through the lens of Scripture, not Scripture through the lens of culture.
Scriptural Foundation:

◦ “For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, ‘He catches the wise in their craftiness,’ and again, ‘The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.’ So let no one boast in men.” – 1 Corinthians 3:19-21

• I affirm that a biological male is a male, and a biological female is a female, in accordance with Genesis 1:27:
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

• I believe that marriage on earth is designed to be a direct reflection of Christ (the Bridegroom) and the Church (the Bride). The Word of God is clear that a biblical Christian marriage is a sacred covenant between God the Father, a biological male, and a biological female, in accordance with Genesis 2:24:
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

• I openly disclose my Judeo-Christian worldview and integrate biblical principles into my coaching and recovery programs while treating all clients with dignity, compassion, and respect.

2. Integrity & Accountability

I hold myself accountable to the highest level of integrity, demonstrating Christ-like character in all interactions with clients, sponsors, colleagues, and the broader community.

3. Personal & Biblical Professional Conduct

As a Christian coach, I recognize that my conduct is a direct reflection of Christ and my calling as a servant-leader in the coaching profession.

  • I will exemplify Christian virtues such as humility, patience, self-control, honesty, and grace, ensuring that my words, attitudes, and actions align with the teachings of Jesus.
  • I will not engage in gossip, slander, deception, or unethical behavior, but will instead seek to uplift and encourage those I serve.
  • I will demonstrate professionalism by being punctual, prepared, and present in all coaching sessions, respecting my clients’ time and commitment.
  • I will foster a safe and biblically sound coaching environment, ensuring that biblical truth is communicated with love and wisdom (Ephesians 4:15).
  • I will lead by example, pursuing a lifestyle of holiness, avoiding immoral, unethical, or compromising situations that could harm my testimony as a Christian coach.
  • I will remain accountable to trusted Christian mentors, pastors, or advisors, recognizing that spiritual oversight is vital for maintaining integrity in my coaching ministry.

4. Confidentiality & Trust

I maintain strict confidentiality with all parties, including clients, sponsors, staff, and support personnel, in compliance with applicable laws governing the use, storage, and disposal of personal data and communications.

  • I will not share client names or information without the client’s explicit consent.
  • I will clearly communicate the limits of confidentiality, including legal or ethical obligations to report situations involving illegal activity, harm to others, or suicidal intent.

5. Professional Boundaries & Referrals

I recognize the distinctions between coaching, mentoring, consulting, pastoral counseling, discipleship, psychotherapy, and other support roles.

  • I will refer clients to appropriate professionals when their needs exceed the scope of coaching.
  • I will maintain clear role separation, especially when serving as both a coach and a minister of the Gospel, counselor, or mentor, ensuring clients understand these distinctions upfront.
  • As a Lay Leader at Austin Ridge Bible Church, I, Graeme Wright, lead the Men’s Sexual Integrity Recovery Program. I will maintain a clear separation between Austin Ridge Bible Church’s Recovery Program and the professional coaching services offered through 837 Recovery & Coaching.

6. Clarity in Agreements

I provide clear, written agreements regarding the coaching relationship, including expectations, fees, payment terms, refunds, and termination policies. All parties retain the right to exit the coaching relationship at any time.

7. Respect for Client Autonomy

While I am transparent about my personal and biblical convictions, I will express them with care and sensitivity within the coaching relationship.

8. Ethical Decision-Making

I remain aware of situations that may conflict with my Christian values and ethical standards, seeking wisdom and guidance in resolving such matters with integrity.

9. Fairness & Non-Discrimination

I treat all individuals with fairness, dignity, and respect, upholding biblical principles of justice and love while honoring local laws and cultural practices.

10. Intellectual Property & Honesty

I respect copyright, trademarks, and intellectual property rights, giving proper credit for materials sourced from others. I acknowledge that violations may result in legal consequences.

11. Avoiding Conflicts of Interest

I exercise sound judgment to avoid conflicts of interest and, if they arise, will promptly disclose them to the relevant parties.

  • I uphold the highest moral standards, ensuring that no inappropriate emotional, physical, or sexual relationships occur with clients.

12. Truthfulness & Competency

I represent my skills, credentials, and expertise honestly, coaching only within my areas of recognized competence and continually improving my professional knowledge.

13. Personal & Spiritual Growth

I actively pursue personal well-being, wholeness, and continual growth in body, soul, and spirit, seeking wisdom and renewal through prayer, Scripture, and lifelong learning.

14. Honoring Christ in All Conduct

In all professional activities, I seek to honor Christ, upholding the reputation of both the coaching profession and the name of Jesus. I strive to conduct myself in a manner that reflects His truth, grace, and righteousness.

Why This Matters to You: Whether you’re a man fighting for freedom or a wife praying for restoration, you can trust us to lead with strength, compassion, and unshakable faith. This isn’t just a program—it’s a promise to honor Christ and fight for your healing.
